Izazovi skladištenja za mala i srednja preduzeća

Neplanirani / neočekivani rast podataka – Tekuća digitalizacija poslovnih procesa znači da će se sve organizacije pre ili kasnije suočiti s povećanjem količine podataka – kao što su podaci o kupcima i zaposlenima, dokumenti o istraživanju i razvojima i sudski podnesci – za koje se nisu mogli pripremiti na početku. Da bi se izbegli potencijalni problemi, potreban je sistem za skladištenje koji raste s poslovanjem.

Propuštanje podataka i neovlašćeni pristup – Prema konvencionalnoj informatičkoj mudrosti, podaci su krvna zrnca svakog savremenog preduzeća. Ovaj aksiom možda se ne primenjuje u svakoj firmi, naročito tamo gde su ljudi i njihove veštine glavna sredstva. Stoga pouzdano rešenje za skladištenje treba uvek uključiti ili podržati niz zaštitnih mehanizama koji osiguravaju da se podaci ne mogu menjati, na primer višefaktorsku autentifikaciju, stroga pravila autorizacije i enkripciju.

Kontinuitet poslovanja i dostupnost podataka – Osim neželjenih curenja i kriminalnih napada, kompanije se takođe suočavaju s „prirodnim” rizicima, kao što su pad sistema, prekid napajanja, požari, poplave, zemljotresi i slično. Da bi se osiguralo da takvi događaji ne ugroze poslovanje, čak ni u najkraćem periodu, kompanije moraju raspoređivati sisteme za skladištenje koji nude dovoljno sigurnosnih rezervnih kopija, uključujući snimke, udaljenu replikaciju i/ili grupisanje.

Osiguranje efikasnosti – Iako su sve ovo razumni ciljevi, to nije uvek lako postići, pošto pravilno zadržavanje, upravljanje i zaštita vrednih informacija obično mnogo košta. Ključni problem za većinu malih i srednjih preduzeća jeste to što su njihovi IT budžeti često ograničeni, a s druge strane, moraju pronaći platformu za skladištenje koja ne samo da ispunjava ambiciozne poslovne i tehničke zahteve već ostaje pristupačna u doglednoj budućnosti.

ETERNUS DX60 S4, ETERNUS DX100 S4i ETERNUS DX200 S4 su hibridni sistemi koji će otvoriti put do postizanja potpuno novih nivoa performansi skladištenja, pošto su oni prvi koji integrišu fleš-tehnologiju u klasične diskove. Na kraju, rezultat je u tome što ovi sistemi nude 100 odsto više kapaciteta za skladištenje podataka i 25 odsto bolje performanse od svojih prethodnika, što ih čini boljim za aplikacije namenjene za podatke.

ETERNUS DX100 S4 i DX200 S4 podržavaju 12 Gbit/s (SAS-3). Isto tako, FC veze sa DX60 preneće dvostruko više podataka preko 16 Gbit/s veza. Dakle, uz samo nekoliko poboljšanja u njihovoj mrežnoj infrastrukturi, korisnici mogu značajno povećati performanse i smanjiti latence za sisteme i aplikacije za skladištenje – potpuno konfigurisani ETERNUS DX200 S4 lako će doći do 250.000 IOPS-a, prebaciti do 1 petabajta podataka dnevno, dok odgovara na upite za manje od 0,1 milisekundi.

Što se tiče skalabilnosti, korisnici mogu započeti sa ETERNUS DX60 i napraviti svoje skladišne prostore dodavanjem više kapaciteta i sistemske memorije i moćnijih procesora po potrebi. Svi ETERNUS DX S4 sistemi podržavaju enkripciju podataka, snimke za fizičke i virtuelne servere i omogućavaju brzu obnovu iz rezervnih sistema. Kao rezultat toga, važni podaci ne mogu biti zamenjeni i organizacije će se vratiti na pravi put u roku od nekoliko minuta, čak i ako napadač uspe ili dođe do prekida. ETERNUS DX100 S4 i DX200 S4 omogućavaju daljinsku replikaciju, grupisanje klastera i transparentni prelazak na drugu lokaciju – u kombinaciji, ove funkcionalnosti mogu korisnicima pružiti skoro trajno skladištenje i dostupnost podataka od 99,9999 odsto.

ETERNUS DX100 S4 i DX200 S4 nude razne komforne funkcije koje pomažu administratorima skladištenja. Automatski kvalitet usluge (Auto QoS) omogućava im prioritizaciju mrežnog saobraćaja i rezervnog propusnog opsega na osnovu relevantnosti i zahteva ključnih aplikacija i implementacije politika za praćenje i prilagođavanje postojećih konfiguracija. Automatizovana Storage Tiering (AST) organizuje podatke u skladu s poslovnim značajem, tako da su „vrući podaci” uvek dostupni na najbržim nivoima, dok manje važne informacije transparentno migriraju do nivoa kapaciteta kao što su HDD-ovi u blizini. Klijenti dobijaju funkciju „samooptimizujuće” platforme koja je stabilna, pouzdana i spremna za rukovanje. Kombinacija fleša i diska pomaže potrošačima da uspostave ravnotežu između povećanih performansi i razumnih troškova po GB prostora za skladištenje.

Veća efikasnost kroz smanjenje podataka – svi ETERNUS DX S4 modeli imaju podrazumevano aktiviran Thin Provisioning, omogućavajući administratorima da dodeljuju kapacitete skladištenja u letu, u skladu sa zahtevima korisnika ili aplikacije. Da bi se ovo postiglo, svi SSD-ovi i/ili HDD-ovi unutar sistema spojeni su u jedan veliki bazen virtuelne memorije, odakle administratori distribuiraju virtuelne zapremine unapred definisane veličine zajedno s (manjim) fizičkim kapacitetima koji odgovaraju trenutnim obrascima korišćenja. Za većinu korisnika, ovo je prvi susret s virtuelizacijom skladišta.

Pre ili kasnije, mnoge kompanije shvatiće da se količina podataka kojom operišu povećala do te mere da su im potrebne efikasnije tehnike za smanjenje podataka, odnosno kompresije i deduplikacije. Oba su uključena u ETERNUS SF softverski paket i podržani na ETERNUS DX200 S4. Kombinacija kompresije i deduplikacije može rezultovati uštedom kapaciteta od 80 odsto, što znači da kompanije mogu sačuvati ekvivalent od 1 TB podataka u količini od samo 200 GB.
