10. maja 2022, Gejdon, UK – Novi Range Rover Sport predstavljen je na globalnoj premijeri sa istorijskim prvim u svetu usponom uz poplavljeni prelivnik brane na Islandu.

U toku istorijskog uspona Novi Range Rover Sport odoleva nagloj bujici vode koja teče niz rampu brane Karahnjukar – najveće te vrste na svetu – brzinom od 750 tona u minuti. Rizik od gubitka vučne sile značio bi poniranje niz opasan pad od 90 metara u podnožju prelivnika brane do dna doline ispod njega.

Treća generacija Land Roverovog luksuznog SUV-a visokih performansi je najpoželjnija, tehnološki najnaprednija i najsposobnija do sada, jer objedinjuje impozantnu prisutnost na putu sa instinktivnim odzivom u vožnji upotrebom najnaprednije kombinacije tehnologija šasije koje su ikada ugrađene u Land Rover.

Uspešan uspon na prelivnik brane prvi put je prikazan na ekskluzivnom događaju u Jaguar Land Roverovom Centru za kreaciju naprednih proizvoda u Gejdonu, UK. Službena vozačica – kaskaderka iz filmova o Džemsu Bondu Džesika Hokins bila je za upravljačem dok je Novi Range Rover Sport demonstrirao svoju snagu, vučnu silu, performanse i staloženost, dovršivši poslednji u nizu izazova za luksuzni Land Roverov SUV visokih performansi. Prethodna dostignuća uključuju rekordni uspon na vrh Pajks Pik, prvi zabeleženi prelazak pustinje Rub el Hali („Prazan prostor“) na Arapskom poluostrvu i prvi uspon uz 999 stepenica do Nebeskih vrata u Kini 2018. godine.

Nik Kolins, izvršni direktor za programe vozila, Jaguar Land Rover, izjavio je: “Land Roverova revolucionarna arhitektura MLA-Flex i najnoviji sistemi šasije objedinjeni su kako bi u Range Rover Sportu isporučili najviše nivoe dinamičnosti koje smo ikada videli. Kontrola integrisane šasije upravlja opsežnim paketom inovacija, i koordiniše sve: od najnovijeg sistema vazdušne suspenzije sa promenljivim volumenom do našeg elektronskog aktivnog upravljanja diferencijalom Dynamic Response Pro. Rezultat toga je najzanimljiviji i najuzbudljiviji Range Rover Sport ikada.”

Uspon prelivnikom brane bio je poslednja prepreka na putu od dna doline do vrha brane, a uključivao je i poplavljeno rečno korito, betonske tunele hidroelektrane i stenoviti zid same brane. Završna deonica prelivnika brane od 294 m uzdiže se pod uglom od 40 stepeni i uspinje se 193 m.

Baza Novog Range Rover Sporta je u naprednoj, fleksibilnoj Modularnoj uzdužnoj arhitekturi (MLA-Flex), koja pruža savršene osnove za njegovu vrhunsku dinamiku i jedinstvenu prefinjenost. Niz njegovih moćnih i efikasnih pogonskih sklopova uključuje dva šestocilindrična Električna Hibridna plug-ina proširenog dometa, koji pružaju domet potpuno električne vožnje do 113 km (70 milja) i emisije CO2 od samo 18 g/km1.

Novi V8 Twin Turbo od 530 KS pruža performanse sportskog automobila dok prelazi 0–100 km/h za samo 4,5 sekunde (0–60 mph za 4,3 sekunde) sa uključenim sistemom Dynamic Launch. Kupci takođe mogu da izaberu i neki od moćnih i efikasnih blagih hibrida sa benzinskim i dizel motorima Ingenium, dok će potpuno električni pogon biti dostupan 2024. godine, jer Land Rover nastavlja svoj put elektrifikacije.
