Korisnici električnih bicikala učetvorostručuju pređenu distancu u roku od šest meseci

Norveška studija otkrila je da su kupci e-bicikala više nego udvostručili upotrebu bicikla za prevoz i vozili u prosjeku 9,2 km dnevno u poređenju sa 2,1 km prije kupovine e-bicikla.

U daljem razotkrivanju stava da e-bicikli „varaju“, nova longitudinalna studija otkrila je da korisnici e-bicikala nesumnjivo više pedaliraju, a manje voze automobile. Istraživači su otkrili da je među učesnicima koji su kupili e-bicikl ukupan broj putovanja biciklom u poređenju sa drugim načinima prevoza porastao sa 17% na 49%, a njihova prosječna dužina vožnje (pređeni put) dnevno, više se nego učetvorostručila.

Istraživači su rekli da su neka ranija istraživanja upotrebe e-bicikala često bila kratkoročna i da su učesnici iznajmljivali bicikle tokom testnog perioda. Drugi su bili retrospektivni i uključivali su učesnike koji su izvještavali o svojim nivoima aktivnosti ili su samo u jednom trenutku upoređivali e-bajkere sa redovnim korisnicima bicikala. Podaci iz ove studije prikupljeni su tokom šest mjeseci kako bi se utvrdilo da li su dobre navike ostale među onima koji su se odvažili i kupili sebi e-bicikl. Ispostavilo se da su pozitivni rezultati prethodnih ispitivanja naglašeno potvrđeni tokom dužeg vremenskog perioda, pri čemu su vlasnici e-bicikala povećali upotrebu bicikla sa 2,1 kilometra na 9,2 kilometara dnevno u prosjeku tokom vremena. Studija zaključuje da e-bicikli sve više postaju „suštinski dio gradskog transportnog sistema“ i čini se da je veća vjerovatnoća da će ljude preusmjeriti od korišćenja motornih vozila nego bicikli bez pogona. Istraživači dodaju: „Naši rezultati potvrđuju prethodne studije, ali pružaju više kontrolisanih podataka o promjeni ponašanja sa upotrebom el. bicikala nego što je ranije pokazano. Ljudi koji kupuju e-bicikl imaju više nego dvostruko povećanje upotrebe bicikla za svakodnevna putovanja.
