Kad razmišljamo o namještaju za svoje domove, obično razmišljamo o kupnji novih predmeta.
Ali jeste li znali da su antikviteti i stari stilski namještaj ekološki bolja opcija, a i bolja investicija?

Ne samo zbog toga što su ulaganja u antikvitete prava investicija čija se vrijednost s vremenom povećava, nego je stari namještaj napravljen takvim proizvodnim metodama i materijalima da traju godinama (čak i stoljećima), predivan je i ekološki je prihvatljiviji od novog namještaja!


Starinski namještaj je ZELEN!

Infographic ističe ugljični otisak komada namještaja 21. stoljeća u usporedbi s antičkim ekvivalentom.
Udruga međunarodnih sajmova antikviteta i kolekcionara (IACF) dovršila je studiju koja je pokazala razliku u razini emisija između antiknih komoda i komoda 21. stoljeća. Studija pokazuje da su antikviteti zaista zeleniji izbor prilikom kupovine namještaja za dom.

Studija ističe niži ugljični otisak antikviteta u usporedbi s njihovim ekvivalentom modernog doba.
Rezultati uspoređuju emisije stakleničkih plinova povezane s proizvodnjom i uporabom antiknih komoda s modernim komodama.
Rezultati pokazuju da je ukupni otisak ugljika, uključujući proizvodnju i isporuku antiknih komoda, 139,6 kg CO2e tijekom 180 godina života.

Za usporedbu, moderna komoda ima ukupni otisak ugljika od 170,38 kg CO2e u razdoblju od 15 godina!!! To je zaista ogromna razlika, a kako kažu: svaka promjena počinje u meni.

Analiza ukupnih rezultata podijeljena s vijekom trajanja komada namještaja pokazuje da antikna komoda ima godišnji otisak ugljika od 0,72 kg CO2e, u usporedbi s 11,36 kg CO2e godišnje za potpuno novu komodu. Stoga nova komoda ima ugljični otisak 16 puta veći od stare antikne komode.
Antikna komoda izrađena je u 19. stoljeću od borove šume, a smatra se da je iz baltičke regije, teška je oko 43 kilograma. Komoda modernog doba izrađena je u Kini od kombinacije furnira breze, MDF-a medijapana), iverice i oraha, a teži oko 69 kilograma.

Ostale zanimljive statistike o industriji namještaja koje su uključene u studiju pokazuju da je namještaj vrijedan 4,6 milijardi funti uvezen 2013. godine. 32 posto svih uvezenih namještaja u Velikoj Britaniji potječe iz Kine. Svake godine se u Velikoj Britaniji odbaci 10 milijuna komada namještaja, s tim da se 3 milijuna tih predmeta može ponovo koristiti bez ikakvih popravaka.

Istraživanje na 2.000 ljudi agencije LoveAntiques.com, otkrilo je da 62 posto ljudi ne razmišlja o održivosti i utjecaju koji kupovina njihovog novog namještaja može imati na okoliš. Iako mnogi ne razmišljaju o kupnji ekološkog namještaja, 67 posto ljudi želi kupiti svoj namještaj iz održivog izvora, a 60 posto ljudi vjeruje da je kupovina antikviteta dobar način preuređenja i recikliranja.
Nadalje, 68 posto ljudi misli da je kupovina antikviteta i recikliranje starog namještaja dobar način za pomoć okolini. Nadajmo se da se ovaj postotak vremenom povećava 🙋🙂
